What is the Kenitra Bar Association?
The Kenitra Bar Association is the professional body of lawyers registered within the jurisdiction of the Court of Appeal of Kenitra. Like Morocco's sixteen other bar associations, it regulates the legal profession under Law 28-08 governing the practice of law: maintaining the roll of lawyers, discipline, training, and defending the profession's independence.
To practise before the courts of the district, a lawyer must be registered on the bar's roll or on the trainee list. Verifying a lawyer's registration with the Kenitra Bar Association is therefore an essential step before retaining them.
Jurisdiction and courts
The Kenitra Bar Association covers the district of the Court of Appeal of Kenitra, in the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region. Its main cities include: Kenitra, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane.
Kenitra hosts several courts before which the bar's lawyers practise, including: Court of First Instance, Commercial Court.
How to verify a lawyer is registered with the Kenitra Bar Association
Any litigant may confirm that the lawyer they intend to retain is actually on the bar's roll. You can contact the bar's secretariat, located near the Court of Appeal of Kenitra, or simply ask the lawyer for their registration number — a registered lawyer will provide it without hesitation.
Lawyer profiles on the AvocatLib directory also display the registration details declared by the lawyer (bar, year of oath), making comparison easier before you choose.
Legal aid
If your resources are limited, you may apply for legal aid (assistance judiciaire), which allows a lawyer to be appointed without bearing their full fees. Applications are filed with the legal aid office of the competent court; the bar takes part in appointing lawyers under this procedure and in court-appointed criminal defence.
